West Trenton, New Jersey - December 17, 2004 - Tandem Labs, a leading bioanalytical contract research organization (CRO), named Ira S. DuBey as Vice President and General Manager of the newly formed Biomarker and Immunoanalytical Division, announced Denis Lin, Ph.D., president and CEO.
"Mr. DuBey will be leading a major expansion of Tandem's service offerings that will focus on biotherapeutic drug development and will include macromolecule analysis, antigenicity analysis, cell-based bioassays, and biomarker analysis," Denis Lin said in announcing the appointment. "The services will include assay development, validation, and sample analysis for both preclinical and clinical assays."
Mr. DuBey joins Tandem Labs with over 25 years of senior level management experience in laboratory-based businesses. Since 1998, he has directed the immunoanalytical business for Covance Labs, Inc. in Chantilly, Virginia. In this role, he expanded capabilities and focused on building a team that was highly responsive to the changing needs of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to Covance, Mr. DuBey held the position of Department Head of Forensic Toxicology for Quest Diagnostics, Inc. in Baltimore, Maryland. He has also held senior management positions in the public sector, directing criminalistics laboratories in Maryland and New York.
Mr. DuBey has been a successful entrepreneur and has founded and co-founded two science-based companies. One company focused on toxicology consulting and new product development and the other company on medical review of drug testing results for corporations and government entities.
Mr. DuBey holds a Master of Science degree in Toxicology from the University of Maryland Graduate School as well as a Master of Business Administration from The Johns Hopkins University, school of professional studies in business and education. He is active in numerous professional organizations including the American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP), American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACP), Clinical Ligand Assay Society (CLAS), and Society of Forensic Toxicologists (SOFT).
